Hello,
Not going to lie - I use me some Uber/ Lyft all the time. It's great. I drove in NY NY.
Streaming for $3500/ mon. sub fees, "Taxicab Confessions!" in NYC NY of all places, to take care of the down sides, you get all the liabilities... pay for rental car, insurance, gas, oil change, repairs, sales tax (Fed., State, City), license fees, registration fees, moving violations (not that you plan those) etc. there were times I'd come home with $0.65 in my pocket for week's work... working 12 hr days, 7 days a week and going to school..

I mean what's not to like? You drive. Make some paper boo boo. Call it a day.
But, there are a few downsides when it comes to using Uber/ Lyft as a side gig:
1. It's not exactly a scalable side gig. You used to get $30/hr (now $9.98 Uber takes a bigger cut, nowadays)
2. You're still basically working for Uber/ Lyft, not yourself
3. Sometimes you'll have to pick three ultra-annoying drunk dudes up from the Houston Rockets vs. Spurs or the NYC equivalents (like Knicks, Nets or B'klyn) game who keep laughing about stuff that just is not funny at all in hindsight. I'd imagine it's the magic mushrooms ingested earlier... And don't get the two together, makes for GR8 streaming but there's a big cleanup afterwards, especially if you were like me driving a limo picked up at police auctions for a song and going to/fro tunnels to Jersey or over the bridge to B'klyn or Queens ;,););,).
(I'm so so sorry Uber/ Lyft driver guy. He probably got fired for streaming, you know privacy & security issues.)
Anyway...
... the point is that I just think there are other really great side gigs out there.
Uber/Lyft just happens to be one of the first ones that people think about.
But here's the deal:
There are butt-tons of awesome side gigs out there for you to choose from if you want to make more money.
Over the last few years running M$$M, I've probably seen all of them.
When I put together lists of side gigs to distribute out to the fam (aka you), I typically look for ones that are:
- scalable
- pay well
- fun work
- not too much competition etc.
- not too much competition etc.
So today, because I'm really feeling generous on this fine Friday...Monday
... and because this is my actual real-life job. I just send emails and make up cool nick names for myself because why not? It's wild. What a weird life I live.
Anyway:
You're welcome.
- Johnny
P.S. - Story time: my assistant is on vacation and I barely even know how to look at my emails without her help. I currently have 606 emails sitting in my inbox. Another mill from last year, I can't used that mailbox can't send nor receive anything ... I'm not even sure how I got to this point in my life. I'm actually drowning in emails. I mean if you want to send a really pleasant email saying something nice, I'll read that. But if you want to send an angry one or something (which happens from time to time), please wait till like Manic Monday. Or never. Either way.
P.P.S - Have a nice Friday and a GR8 Weekend & Monday :)
Its all Sundays to me...
